Containerized data centre is an all-in-one data center solution inside an ISO-standard 40ft or 20ft container, infrastructure vendor Frontier's Solutions has launched a tailor-made containerized data centre service..It’s custom data center solutions are based on traditional ISO High-Cube containers available in lengths between 10 and 40 feet that can be stacked on top of each other, helping customers utilize every inch of available space.
The IT infrastructure is to be preinstalled as client has specified a demand for quick installation.
The modules will be made with insulated, weather proof wall panels that are designed to withstand any environment.
Containerized data centers are pre-fabricated building blocks that can be deployed in a fraction of the time it takes to erect a bricks-and-mortar facility - useful to help grow an existing data center in small increments.
Modules can also be easily shipped to areas where building a permanent data center is impractical. They can withstand any weather conditions - containerized data centers have been popping up in the deserts of Afghanistan and beyond the Arctic Circle - and are perfect for emergency response operations.                                                                                                             The 40ft version fits eight IT cabinets and supplies 60kW of IT power. The 120kVA modular uninterrupted power supply (UPS) provides 10 minutes of backup time. The air conditioning system supplies cold air to the IT equipment horizontally. The 20ft container supports four racks with 30kW of power, backed up by 60kVA rack-mounted UPS.                                                                                                                                                    Frontier's container data centres have been designed to be shipped on the back of a truck anywhere they are required - or at least, anywhere a carrier can terminate its fibre network and where three-phase power and water is available.                                                                                                  We're from an engineering background, we provide a turnkey solution. Simply putting servers in a container doesn't solve any problems for my clients - the issue was how to cool it and get power to it.                Some of the use cases proposed by the vendor include IT network expansion, disaster recovery, temporary use during refurbishments or as a stand-alone data center if clients don’t have the option to build on-site.
The same modules are also available for lease.   The need for speed, cost control and performance in data management is ever growing. Frontier’s prefabricated data center solution is the data center in the future.
